beginning of sleepless ER night

tonight, i went to Sup Meletup at Bandar Sri Permaisuri for the second time.

and of course, i had two bowls of soup AGAIN, and this time i opt for
i) sup daging
ii) sup perut

this time they separate the sauce so that we can adjust the spiciness of the soup. of course, i keep on adding the sauce till my soup take on some kind of reddish hue with added viscosity.

best soup i ever had.

next time, i have to remember the road so that mr.f can take me there :P

and thank god, i successfully managed to fight against the temptation of nasi goreng kampung. probably coz i only bring rm12 with me. rm10 for the soup, and rm2 for the iced milk tea.

(i'm really sorry for my insulin level and ketosis, but iced milk tea is not something that mere resolution can fight off)

but in the end, it doesn't matter, coz someone actually planned to give us a treat! XD thanks to Humairah, my beloved roommate. hahaha

and woot for Julia for the idea to go there, and Iqram for the short preach on hadith and Amrican accent, and his petrol.

:)

p/s: i thought of taking some pictures because i want to blog about the trip this time, but... but... hunger wins, as ALWAYS.

up and down days...

it has been a little over a week since i decided to seriously follow the alternate-day fasting diet. to be honest, it is not easy, you know the times when we REALLY want to do something when we're not supposed to? that's me on my fasting day.

LE FOOD ARE SCREAMING AT ME TO EAT THEM!

and when it's my feed day, yeah, i eat like usual. but sometimes i was like "tch, i have to eat... coz i can't tomorrow..." OR "gee, i'm still full! can i NOT eat?" okay, now both mentality are WRONG. and i hope i can get rid of them soon.

i) "tch, i have to eat... coz i can't tomorrow..."
come on, you still have the day after tomorrow, and another future feed days to eat. come on.

ii) "gee, i'm still full! can i NOT eat?"
EAT! at least until you fulfill your calories need for today! you know if you eat too little everyday, your metabolism will slow down...

but because today i'm at home, my down day automatically goes down the drain.

first, my mom made mutton soup. HOW COULD I SAY NO?
second, my parents bought food from pasar malam.
third, my sis-in-law brought food from her house's kenduri
fourth, my bro brought still-sizzling potato wedges with cheese!
fifth, the cheesecake i bought yesterday is still in the fridge, and i was tempted to take another bite. i did =_=

as a conclusion, i love this diet. not only it encourage me to save money (LOL) but it also makes me realize just how i've eaten like a VERY HUNGRY PIG everytime i'm home. plus, i've seen the weighing scale's spinning a bit less when i stepped on it hehe. :P so i'm gonna continue with it....

... I just have to figure out how to say no to food on my down days, no matter where i am, well, especially when I'm HOME!

the daily grind

last night, i went to the daily grind in bangsar village with la bestie.

i treat myself the 'down on the farm' burger, which by far is the most heavenly patty i've ever tasted. moist and tasty. next time i'm going for triple stack = more patty wahahaha.

i ate only the onion rings, the burger's patty and a small portion of the fries. oh, and a bite of the cornbread and some of that salad. not that i don't want to, but to avoid possible vomiting in near future, i had to stick to the basic. moreover, i already hit rock bottom with my diet that night, so to lessen the guilt, i try to eat less :P

la bestie had a plate of carbonara. MOST DELICIOUS i've ever tasted. definitely i'm gonna grab a plate myself the next time i visit the restaurant. perhaps with mr. r this time? haha.

cough oh god no he's gonna reprimand me for the costly dinner afterwards cough

as dessert AND appetizer, i have the salty caramel chocolate cake. great cake, it's just i wish the salty layers aren't too salty.. and it's HUGE! i literally have to force myself to eat the whole piece of cake. which i failed. lol.

and as beverage, i have the oreo milkshake. for rm14, it's really good. a whole glass of vanilla ice-cream blended with finely ground oreo's.

matcha tea, my favourite tea aside from the malaysian teh tarik and sweetened iced tea :D

i initially found matcha tea among the varieties of teas in Tea Bar, and along with 'just nice' touch of red beans in the beverage, i was hooked.

i know these instant tea (bubble tea they call em?) are not good for health but it's so convenient browsing around the mall while sipping your favourite tea. making the struts fly by >_<

i happen to look around amazon for the kind of match tea they sell there, and wow, the price... i mean, perhaps i am better off looking for match tea in carrefour, jusco, or maybe cold storage. much more compatible with my bank account :P

cheerio!

burger bakar at Bismillah Rstaurant, Serdang

i've always have this urge to try out the burger bakar trend, but the closest i did get was the Wendy's Hot n' Juicy Cheeseburgers, which is really not bad at all! at around rm17, i get the cheeseburger with double patty, complete with the complementary drink and fries. i was full after only gobbling on the burger alone :D i'll definitely go again to Wendy's to try out their other menu. too bad there's still no Wendy's in Batu Pahat :(

but there's always something different from the fast food stuff with the tepi jalan stuff, or it's just me :/. but i reckon that one fine day i will eventually get around to eating the burger bakar tepi jalan that i always wanted, but i never thought that the day will come much earlier. hehehe.

one day, diba was fasting and le me was practising fasting. lol i know it's so mengada-ngada.. so after maghrib, as usual we're hunting for food around serdang, and we eventually went to this mamak restaurant, Bismillah. and guess what, there's burger bakar sold there! i went for beef burger bakar with cheese at the price of rm7. i still think that's quite a lot to be spending on something that tastes good but will stay in my thigh. tch. anyway...

yeah, it looks good, but it will look SO BAD around my thigh
::sobs::

as always, diba wanted to snap picture with le food :P

catnip @ catmint for your cat, is like starbucks for you

i'll just summarize what i just read :P it is another info dump session anyways

=> catnip a.k.a catmint

=> contains stimulant for feline's pheromone

=> can be eaten, not addictive

=> no bad effect to cat, but if it is too much, you cat will have vomiting or diarrhea (too much of anything isn't good anyways) only a pinch at a time is sufficient to make it happy

=> behaviour after smelling / eating catnip : whatever a happy cat does that include mewing, kicking around, rolling, purring

=> typically sold in dried form, but the fresher the catnip, the happier the cat will be

=> stem of catnip has poorer effect compared to leaves and flowers, so look closely at the package before buying :)

another drawing and the best type of chocolate you can eat between white, milk and dark. totally unrelated topics, that's just how i roll :P

i drew some more-realistic-than-chibi stuff and tried to color it, and the result was... i don't know, it wasn't really good. well, maybe i'll get better as time passed by:3 actually in this type of drawing, i prefer to have it in black and white, coz, like in this drawing, i had to lose a favourite feature on the guy that i like, because i don't know how to color it without destroying the feature. the guy's BLUSH. T_T

i love putting blush on a guy's face, coz it makes him look kinda like the shy guy, adorable, lovably cute.... XD and that's what i gotta lost when i colored it. wah~

moving on to the chocoey topic, i was reading a health magazine and found an article about it. so it said that chocolate's healthy effects come from its plant source, the cacao bean.the cacao bean is a good stuff because it contains falavanol, some kinda antioxidant.

source

logically, between milk, dark and white chocolate, obviously dark chocolate contain the highest content of cacao bean, so it's the best for your health. but just eat it according to your level, coz i once tried to eat the 70% ones, and THAT is not heavenly.

milk chocolate contain less flavanol, and that makes the white chocolate as the least type of chocolate you should eat because it contain even less flavanol. however, white chocolate may contains some calcium.

i like dark chocolate, but can never have the will to incline the other two.

i just can get this out of my mind until i blog it : Ju(i)cy Lucy Cheeseburger

being a fan of food, it's only natural that i love watching Man V. Food. American food never cease to amaze me, sometimes i just wish that i was born there and thus be able to enjoy all the good food.

ah, dreams..

yesterday, Adam went to Minnesota ( i guess) to try the Juicy Lucy. It's really just a cheeseburger with the cheese IN the patty, not ABOVE it. with the heat and all, the cheese will still melt when we are eating it. oh my... that's heavenly.

so today i wanna dump the info i got her, that's how to make Juicy Lucy patty

Cut the cheese into
some small pieces or
just fold it

Put the cheese on top
of a patty and put another
patty on top of them.

Press the edges of the patties
so that the cheese will not be
able to get out once it melted

Fry the patty and make it a part
of an awesome cheeseburger!

Eat, but dont forget to watch the
cheese oozes outta the patty after
your first bite! Yay!

i knew bear claw from Baking Life (i think) and I see it again when watching sitcom 2 Broke Girls as Max's favourite food. i wish it's available here in Malaysia :(

bear claw is a sweet breakfast food popular in United States.

it often contains almond paste or raisins but also may have butter pecan, cream cheese, grape or cherry.

and i hope some bakery in malaysia near my place will realize its existence and start selling them *wishwishwish*

i love cakes, but on 2012 maybe i'll just drool more and eat less. and rainbow cakes.... well....

those are pretty much like fondant. pretty to look at, but not really likely to be eaten. idk... i guess i just loathe things with so much artificial colours . lagi-lagi the bright ones. X0

maybe it's just me. or i'm just health conscious seriously? smirk

and i just watch 'fabulous cakes' on  TLC (i think) and there's just one cake that they state the price. 4800 dollars. yep. fourty-eight effing hundred dollars for a cake consisting of mostly bland-tasted fondant and edible lacquer no one's going to eat.

that's why i like simplicity
